The 10th century general Watanabe no Tsuna fell asleep one night while keeping watch at the Rasho Gate. His slumber is interrupted by a wrench to his helmet and he brandishes his sword, cutting off the huge hairy arm of his assailant, the demon Ibaraki. A few days later his elderly aunt, Mashiba, visits and asks to see the monstrous limb with claws. Watanabe realises that his aunt is in fact Ibaraki in disguise, as she grabs the severed arm and flies away.
